Yes Man

Jim Carrey's Yes Man is quite a good movie, but does not have enough about it to let you remember, or watch it again. It is a nice, pleasing movie, but it is not a DVD movie that you would willing to rent to see sometime later in your life.

Yes Man is once see movie. With a plot similar to Liar Liar, another Jim Carrey movie, the only thing that would make this movie better than Liar Liar is by giving great laughs throughout the whole movie.

Sadly, it doesn't. Yes Man give you a few great laughs, but as i said they are few. The movie stands on its feet only because of Jim Carrey. Jim Carrey is excellent in this movie as he always is, and has been in all his previous films.

All in all Yes Man is between an average movie and a good movie.

Watchmen

I had heard lot about watchmen before it was released. People said that it is based on one of the most complex comics of all time. Watchmen was critically acclaimed, and that is why i wanted to see it.

When i saw watchmen, i was disappointed. This movie had stunning visual effects, whether they were beautiful or brutal, but they were excellent. That is all the good things that i can say about the movie.

The bad part is that watchmen is terribly long, a whole 2 hrs 40 minutes seem terribly long and boring. Throughout the movie, you don't feel anything for the characters, neither do understand what is happening. It does not have enough to garner your attention.

All in all watchmen is an below average movie.

Evan Almighty

Now, this movie is top draw. It is better than the first one, namely Bruce Almighty. The main protaganist plays a more intense role in this one, than Jim Carrey. There is also Morgan Freeman, again in the GOD mode, and he is superb as he usually is.

If it was Bruce in the first one, here the characters name is Evan.

In this sequel, GOD tells Evan to build an ark, he supplies all neccessary items to build an arc, including help from all kind of animals. But, Evan does not no why GOD is telling him to do this, until the end of this movie. Evan faces tough resistance from everyone, including his own wife and children.

Evan Almighty is one of the better movies i have seen in recent times. It is one of those movie, that makes you feel good, it makes you laugh and cry.

Kudos to Evan Almighty.

The Andromeda Strain - Part 1

Andromeda Strain is quite a good movie. The reason why you should watch Andromeda Strain is because it keeps you engaged through the entire length of the film. The production values are quite good.

A virus, an alien or artificial ( Andromeda ) sweeps through towns, killing anyone in contact.

Throughout the first part you are left to imagine what actually is the cause for all the death, whether it is alien or if someone is behind it, they call it Andromeda. The movie is full of suspense and thrills, and keeps you on the edge of the seats.

Andromeda Strain, part 1 is very, fascinating to say the least, it leaves you gasping in anticipation of the part 2 of Andromeda Strain.

Swindled

Swindled is a excellent con flick. Swindled has numerous twists and turns leading to an excellent climax. It has some very good actors, the main protaganist and his brother are the best. The movie keeps you engaged throughout the entire length of the film. When you see tricks, you really get amazed seeing them. When you find how they are done, you are left speechless.

Ernesto (Ernesto Alterio) is apprenticed to well-seasoned con artists Manco (Manuel Alexandre) and Federico (Federico Luppi), when the trio decide to execute their coup de grace in this plot-twisted thriller. In order to pull off this large job, they enlist the help of Pilar (Victoria Abril), a classic femme fatale with whom Federico shares a past--and who is his only weakness.

Swindled inspires many modern day con movies. The beauty about this movie is that you are left guessing throughout the film. Swindled is probably one of the best con movies ever.
